Seminar on Church & Development for Pastors - 17th to 20th April 2010
Theme of the seminar was: “Church Leader and Development” & “Evangelism and Social work”
One of the objectives of the 2009-11 Program (Objective 10) is to establish a local church support system for development work. The planned activities included conducting seminars for church leaders on development issues and organizing exposure visits to project areas. The present seminar was held with the following objectives:
Breaking the Chains - April 2010
CSS is helping to transform the lives of former slaves and others in need. CSS invited roughly 60 prostitutes to lunch at its national offices in Pune. The women arrived on rickshaws paid for by CSS.
Capacity strengthening workshop at Pune - March 2010
A staff development workshop was organised for the development staff of CSS at Ishwani Kendra, Pune from 29th to 30th of March 2010. Right Based Approach was one of the focus area of the workshop. Rev. Bertil Svensson, the Mission Secretary and Ms. Rut Linden, the Controller/Desk officer Asia of Mission Covenant Church of Sweden contributed a lot during the workshop.
Pune Small Business Seminar - January 2010
About four years ago, CSS and Jan, a Swedish businessmen, started a small microloan program in Ambedkar Nagar which is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Pune. Now that the program has been running for a few years, they thought it would be a neat idea to host a gathering for the entrepreneurs so they could connect with one another, share some of their experiences, and celebrate their achievements together.
CSS Annual Meeting - December 2009
In December 2009, the CSS Development Officers (DO) from all over India went to Nagpur. Dr. Raj Kumar and his wife, Priya, from Rainbow Management Consultancy hosted the week-long activities. The DOs were able to reflect on the past year, learn from some other organizations, and plan for 2010.
